Bitcoin leads crypto liquidations, affecting 186k traders
In the past 24 hours, cryptocurrency markets experienced considerable volatility, leading to liquidations totaling US$524.8 million.
Data from Coinglass indicates that almost 186,000 traders were impacted across centralized exchanges.
Bitcoin led the liquidations with US$142.5 million in force-closed positions, including US$101 million in long positions.
Ether saw liquidations totaling US$89.9 million, with US$49.2 million originating from long positions.
Liquidations occur when traders’ positions are liquidated due to insufficient funds needed to cover losses or maintain required margins.
