Bitcoin gains above $65k as oil slides
Bitcoin rose above US$65,000 on July 27 after the US and Iran went a second day without new strikes, helping pull oil prices lower and lift risk assets more broadly.
BTC gained about 1.2% in 24 hours to US$65,509, while ether rose more than 3% to nearly US$1,950.
Other major tokens, including Solana and XRP, climbed 1% to 2%.
West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures fell about 5% to US$85, and Brent crude dropped 4.7% to US$92.19.
Nasdaq and S&P 500 futures each rose about 0.5%, reversing recent conflict-driven moves in which heightened Middle East tensions pushed oil higher and US stock futures lower.
Analysts said easing fears of supply disruption should push oil lower and lift stocks.
Bitcoin’s move also matched a broader market trend.
Its latest 30-day correlation with the S&P 500 was 0.26, showing a modest positive relationship with US equities.
Traders were also watching the Federal Reserve’s July 28-29 meeting.
Markets were assigning a 36.3% probability to a 25-basis-point rate increase.
