Binance to stop new sign-ups in four EU states

Binance has told customers in France, Italy, Poland, and Spain that it will stop taking new registrations and limit some services from July 1 because it will not have a Markets in Crypto-Assets, or MiCA, license.

Binance, a crypto-exchange headquartered in Abu Dhabi, said it withdrew its MiCA license application in Greece and will seek authorization in another European Union country.

Under MiCA, a crypto provider authorized in one member state can provide services across the 27-country bloc.

Firms operating under older national regimes could rely on a transition that runs to July 1, 2026, after that, providers without approval must stop or restrict their EU activity.

France has accepted MiCA applications since July 1, 2024. Some rivals already have licenses, including Kraken, which said it has operated under MiCA since receiving authorization in Ireland in June 2025.
