Binance and its CEO, Changpeng Zhao, have pleaded guilty to breaking US financial and anti-money laundering laws. The world’s biggest crypto exchange will pay over US$4 billion to resolve the investigation – one of the largest corporate penalties in US history.

Zhao will step down from his post and hand over the reins to Richard Teng, who was tipped to take over the company months ago.
