The Biden administration has said that enforcing the TikTok ban, set to take effect on Jan. 19, will be the responsibility of President-elect Donald Trump.

The Supreme Court recently upheld legislation mandating ByteDance, TikTok’s parent company, to divest its ownership over national security concerns.

The legislation targets security risks linked to TikTok’s Chinese ownership, but Biden’s administration has shown hesitation in imposing penalties for non-compliance.

Trump, who supported a TikTok ban during his first term, has expressed uncertainty about his approach this time.

TikTok’s future operations remain uncertain, with reports suggesting potential temporary app shutdowns, though no official plans have been announced.
