Thailand’s Betagro, an integrated food company, said on October 20 it had acquired a majority stake in Freshket through Betagro Ventures to expand digital distribution and enter food tech.

Betagro did not disclose the deal value.

Freshket, a Thailand-based digital food supply platform, was founded in 2017.

It offers more than 10,000 products to over 20,000 hotel, restaurant, and catering operators, according to Betagro.

The startup previously raised US$23.5 million in series B funding.

Freshket also describes itself as a fully integrated food supply chain platform.

Betagro said Freshket planned to widen its imported product range, expand beyond its current markets, and upgrade cold-chain logistics.

Thailand has merger rules that may require notification for deals meeting certain thresholds.
