Bessemer Venture Partners raising $5.8b for startups

Bessemer Venture Partners, a US-based venture capital firm, is raising US$5.75 billion across two new funds to back startups from seed to growth stage.

It said AI is changing how quickly companies are built and how long they stay private.

The firm said it has closed US$1.75 billion for seed and early-stage investments and US$4 billion for a new growth fund.

The vehicle will support larger investments in existing portfolio companies and new deals.

Bessemer said the new capital will support more investments in Israel, where it has operated since 2007.

The firm said it has backed about 80 startups there, including DriveNets, Port, and Upwind.

Adam Fisher, the partner who established Bessemer’s Israel operations, said the firm has doubled the pace of its investments in the country over the past two years, from seed through growth.
