Bessemer Venture Partners launches $350m fund for Indian startups

Bessemer Venture Partners has launched its second dedicated India fund, totaling US$350 million.

The fund aims to support early-stage startups across various sectors, including AI, software as a service, fintech, digital health, consumer brands, and cybersecurity.

The venture capital firm has maintained a presence in Bangalore for nearly 20 years.

It has invested in over 80 startups in India to date. Notable investments include BigBasket, Urban Company, Perfios, and Livspace, with some achieving valuations over US$1 billion or going public.

In the past five years, more than 80% of Bessemer’s investments in India have been at the series A stage or earlier.

The firm’s partners, Vishal Gupta and Anant Vidur Puri, will continue to oversee its investment strategy in the country.
