Bessemer leads $6m seed round in US defense tech startup

Breaker, a defense technology startup, announced it has raised US$6 million in a seed funding round led by Bessemer Venture Partners, with support from Main Sequence Ventures.

The funding will be used to expand the team in Austin and Sydney and deploy the platform to more partners.

The company aims to address the challenge of coordinating autonomous systems in military operations, which currently rely on one operator controlling one robot.

Breaker’s platform enables a single operator to manage teams of autonomous drones, land, and sea vehicles using voice commands over existing radios, with onboard AI agents that operate independently of cloud networks.

The technology has been tested through contracts with the US Special Operations Command and Singapore’s Defence Science and Technology Agency.

Breaker’s approach focuses on real-time, autonomous orchestration of robotic teams to improve operational efficiency in defense settings.
