Bessemer leads $10m round in AI construction startup MeltPlan
Construction tech startup MeltPlan has raised US$10 million in a funding round led by Bessemer Venture Partners, with participation from Noa, a European venture capital firm.
The company says it will use the funds to enhance its tech offering, strengthen its vertical AI stack, and expand its team from 14 to 30 employees, primarily in India.
MeltPlan offers an AI-based platform designed to optimize decision-making before construction begins, aiming to reduce costly changes during project execution, CEO Kanav Hasija says.
Founded in 2025 by Hasija and civil engineer Tanmaya Kala, MeltPlan has clients in the US and United Arab Emirates and plans to tap into the Indian market in the coming years.

🧠 Food for thought
Implications, context, and why it matters.
An experienced founding team drives MeltPlan’s early enterprise traction
- MeltPlan’s founders bring a strong mix of experience. CEO Kanav Hasija previously co-founded healthtech unicorn Innovaccer, while Tanmaya Kala is a former DPR Construction executive 1.
- That background helps with early customer access. MeltPlan works with enterprise contractors such as DPR Construction in California and Innovo Group in the UAE 1.
- The platform tackles a common snag in preconstruction where trust between clients and architects can fray due to unclear expectations, communication, and decision-making 2. Hasija says MeltPlan lets teams simulate outcomes before plans are finalized through code compliance pathways, cost and bid scoping (quantity surveying), scenario-based scheduling, and impact analysis with optimization, which can make planning clearer and reduce changes during execution 1.
AI in construction is moving toward upfront planning alongside on-site tools
- MeltPlan’s funding signals a move in construction AI toward preconstruction planning. On-site tools like safety monitoring and progress tracking are widespread, while MeltPlan focuses on decisions before construction starts 3.
- The aim is to cut expensive mid-project changes, which differs from AI-based quality assurance. McKinsey, quoted in Logiciel’s roundup, puts AI-based QA savings at 10% to 20% of rework costs 3. AI also covers contract analysis, risk assessment, and cost estimation 4.
- The round joins a surge in funding for construction tech startups 5. Investors are backing AI platforms that connect workflows into more integrated project ecosystems and support data-driven foresight 3.
