Beijing has unveiled an AI-focused computing platform run by government-backed Beijing Energy Holding. Called Shangzhuang, the platform aims to aid the city’s research facilities, tertiary institutions, and smaller businesses that face a shortage of computer power.

The first phase is planned to provide 500 petaflops of computing power, which will increase to 1,500 petaflops in the second stage.
