BDx Data Centers, a Singapore-based data center operator backed by I Squared Capital, said on September 22 it had broken ground on a 640MW AI data center campus in Jatiluhur, West Java, after securing 845MVA of grid capacity from state utility PLN.

The company said the campus will be developed over about three years.

The first of six planned buildings will provide 120MW of information technology capacity in phases starting in early 2027.

BDx said the campus is part of its more than 1.2GVA of secured grid capacity across its Indonesia AI campuses.

It added that a US$320 million loan facility secured in 2026 supports its AI-focused campus expansion in the country.

West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi and Purwakarta Regent Saepul Bahri Binzein attended the groundbreaking ceremony.

Broader planning for the Java-Bali power system has also included scaling renewables.
