Duranta offers tools for landscapers and lawn care professionals. This includes an AI feature named AIdan, which automates property measurements and assists in creating customer proposals.
The platform also provides landscape design, invoicing tools, and a customer relationship management (CRM) system designed to streamline workflows for outdoor service businesses.
They aim to expand their engineering team and increase support for small businesses in the landscaping sector.

🧠 Food for thought
1️⃣ Vertical SaaS in traditionally low-tech industries attracts growing investment
Duranta’s $7 million seed round reflects a broader trend of significant capital flowing into technology solutions for historically underdigitized sectors.
Construction and adjacent industries have seen technology investment double from $9 billion to $18 billion in recent years, with notable increases in early-stage venture capital transactions 1.
This pattern aligns with the broader technology industry outlook, which predicts significant growth in software and IT services spending, particularly in specialized vertical solutions 2.
Duranta’s focus on automating property measurement and proposal generation addresses a specific pain point in the landscaping workflow. The founders’ previous success with Aurora Solar in the cleantech space demonstrates how entrepreneurs with technology expertise are identifying opportunities across traditionally low-tech sectors, bringing proven SaaS business models to new verticals.
2️⃣ AI adoption transforming traditional field service industries
AIdan, Duranta’s AI property measurement tool, represents a specific application of artificial intelligence in an industry that has historically relied on manual processes and site visits.
The global AI market is projected to grow significantly, with investments anticipated to reach $200 billion by 2025, as companies leverage AI to enhance operational efficiency across industries 2.
