Baidu’s Q4 revenue falls 2% as ad dip offsets AI cloud gains
Baidu, a Chinese technology company, experienced a 2% year-on-year revenue decline for the quarter ending December 31, 2024, recording 34.12 billion yuan (US$4.7 billion).
This performance slightly exceeded analyst expectations of 33.32 billion yuan (US$4.61 billion) but was impacted by a downturn in its advertising business, partially offset by growth in its Cloud AI segment.
Online marketing revenues, excluding Baidu’s iQIYI streaming service, decreased by 7% to 17.9 billion yuan (US$2.48 billion) due to economic pressures in China.
However, Baidu’s Cloud AI business recorded a 26% increase, reaching 7.1 billion yuan (US$983 million), driven by rising demand for AI solutions.
