Baidu to convert Hong Kong listing to primary status

Baidu said in a Hong Kong Stock Exchange filing that it will voluntarily convert its secondary listing in Hong Kong to a primary listing, effective September 1, 2026.

After the change, it will have a dual primary listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and Nasdaq.

The company said the “S” marker will be removed from the stock short names of its Hong Kong dollar and renminbi counters on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange from September 1, 2026.

Hong Kong’s Stock Connect is a market access program linking the Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Hong Kong stock markets.

It lets investors trade eligible shares in the other market through local brokers and clearing houses, including southbound trading by mainland Chinese investors in eligible Hong Kong-listed stocks.
