Baidu reportedly cuts jobs, restructures AI team after Q3 loss

Baidu is cutting jobs across multiple divisions and restructuring its AI teams after reporting a loss in Q3 2025, according to several employees.

The layoffs affect staff in Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou, including units such as its mobile ecosystem, intelligent cloud, and technology platform groups.

One employee in Beijing said nearly half of his team in the mobile ecosystem unit received severance notices and are expected to leave in December.

Severance packages reportedly include one month’s salary per year of service, plus up to three additional months of pay.

The company has not disclosed the total number of affected employees.

Baidu reported a 50% rise in AI-related revenue in Q3 but still posted an overall loss.

The company did not comment on the layoffs.
