Baidu cuts autonomous car costs to $34k

Baidu cuts production costs for its Apollo RT6 self-driving vehicle to 250,000 yuan (approximately US$34,525).

This move aims to enhance the accessibility of autonomous driving technology in China.

Robin Li, Baidu’s co-founder and CEO, said the RT6 is the only mass-produced Level-4 (highly automated) autonomous vehicle worldwide.
