Amazon Web Services (AWS) is planning to test a new carbon-removal material in its data centers starting in 2025.

This move comes as part of a collaboration with Orbital Materials, a startup using AI for material development.

The carbon-filtering substance was designed to target carbon dioxide at a molecular level.

Initially, the pilot will run in a single AWS data center. The three-year partnership aims to explore additional sustainable solutions.

This initiative supports Amazon’s goal to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2040.
