AWS brings Amazon’s AI shopping tools to retailers
Amazon’s cloud unit AWS has launched the Agentic Shopping Assistant on AWS.
The toolkit for retailers to build AI shopping assistants using technology developed for Amazon’s Alexa for Shopping.
AWS said the offering provides tools and implementation support rather than a standalone software product. Retailers can connect their own systems and data while keeping data in their own AWS accounts.
Amazon said the technology behind its AI shopping assistant served more than 300 million customers last year and drove nearly $12 billion in incremental sales. AWS is now packaging those lessons for other retailers through the new offering.
Tapestry, a US fashion group that owns Kate Spade, used the toolkit to launch an AI Gift Concierge on April 13.
The launch comes as other cloud providers expand similar tools. Google Cloud said its Gemini Enterprise for customer experience includes retail shopping agents that can be deployed in days.
