Kirstin Hunter has been appointed as the new CEO of Birchal, an Australian crowdsourced funding platform.

She takes over from co-founder Matt Vitale, who stepped down in January to focus on his health and family.

Hunter, founder of Future Super and former managing director of Techstars’ Tech Central Sydney Accelerator, was initially brought in for a transitional role before being selected as CEO by an external recruiter.

Her appointment follows Birchal’s recent US$2 million capital raise to expand operations.

The platform                                                                                 including US$3.4 million for Medigrowth and US$3 million for Naked Life.

Despite past financial challenges, including a 30% cost reduction last July, Hunter aims to improve services, attract high-net-worth investors, and collaborate with policymakers to strengthen the ecosystem.
