Australian freelance platform Airtasker raises $6.5m for marketing

Airtasker has raised AU$10 million (US$6.52 million) in a new equity placement led by US-based iHeartMedia to support its international ad efforts.

The Sydney-based freelancer marketplace connects users with services such as gardening, bartending, and accounting.

Alongside the funding, Airtasker will receive AU$7.6 million (US$4.96 million) in additional US media and ad resources through its expanded partnership with iHeartMedia.

Airtasker has previously secured media-for-equity deals with US firms Sinclair Broadcast Group and Mercurius Media, as well as the UK’s 4 Ventures, bringing Channel Four Television’s total investment in the company to over AU$19 million (US$12.39 million).

The latest capital raise also included contributions from existing shareholder Exto Partners and other institutional and sophisticated investors.

Airtasker reported AU$28 million (US$18.26 million) in annual recurring revenue across the US and UK as of June 2025.
