Atome achieves FY profitability with $236m operating income
Atome Financial reported a record operating income of US$236 million for 2024 and achieved full-year profitability.
The Singapore-based digital finance platform operates buy-now-pay-later, card, and lending services across Southeast Asia.
Operating income rose 63% year-on-year, with gross merchandise volume (GMV) reaching over US$2 billion, up 50% from 2023.
As of Q2 2025, Atome Financial said its annualized net revenue surpassed US$500 million, with annualized GMV crossing US$4 billion.
Growth was driven by product diversification, including insurance and savings, and the expansion of its Atome PayLater Anywhere Card in the Philippines, which reached 1.5 million cards issued by June 2025.
The company strengthened its funding base through partnerships with global and regional financial institutions such as BlackRock, EvolutionX, HSBC, and DBS.
Atome Financial also cited the use of generative AI to improve customer service and credit processes.

🧠 Food for thought
1️⃣ Atome’s profitability milestone arrives during Southeast Asia’s BNPL boom
Atome’s record performance coincides with explosive growth across Southeast Asia’s Buy Now Pay Later market, which is projected to reach USD 211.7 billion in 2025 with 14.5% annual growth1.
The broader regional market has maintained a robust 22.5% compound annual growth rate from 2021 to 2024, creating favorable conditions for established players like Atome1.
Southeast Asia’s BNPL sector is expected to grow from USD 7.3 billion in 2019 to USD 33.6 billion by 2027, representing a nearly five-fold increase over eight years2.
This rapid market expansion helps explain how Atome could simultaneously achieve 63% operating income growth while reaching full-year profitability, as the rising tide of BNPL adoption provides both scale economies and reduced customer acquisition costs.
The timing positions Atome well to capture market share as the overall Southeast Asian online shopping market approaches USD 133.62 billion by 20253.
