ASML orders reach $6.3b in bookings as AI boosts demand

ASML Holding NV reported Q3 orders of €5.4 billion (US$6.3 billion), surpassing analyst projections of €4.9 billion (US$5.32 billion), as rising investment in AI infrastructure drove demand for its chip-making equipment.

The Dutch company is the sole supplier of extreme ultraviolet lithography machines used in advanced AI chip production.

Major customers like Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. and Samsung Electronics have also reported strong demand for AI chips.

ASML shares have risen 25% in 2025, making it the largest publicly traded company in Europe by market value.

ASML is also preparing for possible disruptions following China’s recent rare earth export limits.

They aim to sign long-run deals with automakers and wind-turbine makers seeking suppliers outside China 5.
  • Hydrogen-based short-loop recycling takes apart magnets and recovers metals without acid. HyProMag USA plans a Dallas-Fort Worth site for 2027 6. Capacity is about 750 tonnes a year within five years of operation 6. The process cuts embedded carbon by more than 88% versus conventional chemical recycling 6. This can strengthen supply-chain resilience for semiconductor equipment suppliers facing geopolitical risks.
