Aramco’s VC arm joins $30m series A for Saudi tech startup

Zension Technologies, based in Riyadh, has secured US$30 million in a Series A funding round.

The round included investments from Wa’ed Ventures, a subsidiary of Saudi Aramco, Sumitomo Corp. of Japan, and Global Ventures based in Dubai.

Zension Technologies offers warranties, device buy-back services, and subscription-based technology upgrades that extend the lifespan of electronic devices.

Its services are focused on Saudi Arabia’s smartphone market, which is the largest in the region.
