Aramco, Pasqal deploy quantum computer at data center

Aramco and Pasqal have deployed Saudi Arabia’s first quantum computer at Aramco’s data center in Dhahran.

Aramco is an energy company based in Saudi Arabia, and Pasqal is a quantum computing firm.

This marks the first quantum computer in the Middle East dedicated to industrial use.

The Pasqal system can control 200 qubits in programmable, two-dimensional arrays.

The installation is intended to support research and applications in energy, materials, and industrial sectors.

Pasqal will also provide training and research opportunities for Saudi engineers and scientists as part of the partnership.

Wa’ed Ventures, part of Aramco’s venture capital program, invested in Pasqal in 2023 and has supported the company’s efforts to localize its technology in Saudi Arabia.
