Apple’s iOS 26 feature adds calendar events from a screenshot

Apple has announced a new feature in its upcoming iOS 26 update that enables users to add events to their calendar directly from a screenshot.

This functionality is part of the company’s Visual Intelligence capabilities.

When users take a screenshot that contains event details, a prompt labeled “Add to calendar” will appear. Tapping this prompt generates a preview of the event, which includes the date, time, and location.

This allows for edits before adding it to the calendar. This feature builds on a similar function introduced in iOS 18, which allowed users to create events from photos.

Early testers have reported that the feature works consistently, accurately adding events to the calendar with few errors.

However, it currently supports only one event per screenshot and does not accommodate multiple events at once.

iOS 26 is expected to be released later this year, making this feature available to Apple users worldwide.
