Apple is expected to announce a new version of Siri in February.

The update will use Google’s Gemini AI models and is seen as the first step toward fulfilling Apple’s AI promises made in June 2024, with features enabling Siri to access user data and on-screen content.

A more conversational Siri, possibly running on Google’s cloud, is planned for a larger upgrade in June at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference.

Reports indicate that Apple has faced challenges in its AI strategy, especially after AI chief John Giannandrea’s departure and internal disagreements.
