Apple to replace Siri with AI chatbot Campos this year

Apple plans to update Siri later this year by integrating a new AI chatbot, internally called Campos, across iOS, iPadOS, and macOS.

It will replace the current voice assistant and be accessible via the existing Siri command or side button.

Unlike the current Siri, the new chatbot will support conversational interactions and handle tasks like web searches, content creation, and device control.

The update is expected to be announced at WWDC in June and released in September.

Apple is working with Google on the underlying AI technology, with the chatbot hosted on Google’s servers for now.

The company may switch to Apple’s own models in the future while prioritizing user privacy.

Siri’s capabilities will expand into core apps like Mail, Photos, and Calendar.
