Apple signed $30b-plus US chip deal with Broadcom

Apple said on July 8 that it had signed a multiyear agreement worth more than US$30 billion with US chip and networking company Broadcom.

The partnership will focus on designing and producing custom silicon components and wireless connectivity technologies at Broadcom’s facility in Fort Collins, Colorado, for Apple products.

Apple said the deal is expected to result in more than 15 billion chips made in the US.

Broadcom plans to invest US$1.5 billion to expand and modernize the Colorado plant, which will produce radio-frequency components including FBAR filters.

The deal is Apple’s largest commitment under its American Manufacturing Program, launched in August 2025 as part of a US$600 billion, four-year US investment plan.

Broadcom was one of the program’s initial partners.

The agreement builds on a long-standing supplier relationship.

Apple said Broadcom is part of the program, but the estimate that Apple accounts for about 20% of Broadcom’s annual revenue came from analysts, not Apple.

FBAR filters help isolate radio bands in phones and other devices as those products add more wireless standards and higher-frequency 5G links.
