Apple shifts M&A chief to services, names new deal lead
Apple has appointed insider Steve Smith to lead mergers and acquisitions and moved Adrian Perica to its services division, according to a memo seen on October 8.
Perica, who has spent more than 17 years on Apple’s mergers and acquisitions and corporate development team, will now focus entirely on services and report to services chief Eddy Cue.
He took oversight of iCloud, Fitness+, and News, among other services businesses, in 2023. Smith will report to CFO Kevan Parekh.
“We have big plans for services, and I’m thrilled to be getting more of Adrian’s time,” Cue wrote in the memo.
Apple is also promoting Carson Oliver to vice president of the App Store.
