Apple said it will hold a product event on Sept. 9 at its Cupertino, California, headquarters, with a livestream on its website.

The company is expected to unveil a foldable iPhone alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max in the first launch under CEO John Ternus.

The foldable iPhone would unfold into a display about the size of a small iPad.

The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are also expected to get faster chips, better battery life, and camera upgrades, including a mechanical aperture on at least the larger model.

Apple is moving the regular iPhone 18 and a second-generation iPhone Air to next spring.

New Apple Watches could arrive at the same time as the new iPhones.

Apple is also preparing home devices, new Macs and iPads, and an upgraded iPad mini for later this year.

If launched, the foldable iPhone would take Apple into the foldable smartphone market, where Samsung leads, according to International Data Corporation (IDC).
