Apple has unveiled its new MacBook Pro laptops featuring the M4 chip in what may be its final hardware launch of 2024.

This release includes options for the M4 Pro and M4 Max chips. Apple claims these new chips are 1.8 times faster than the previous M1 chip.

A key update is the increase in RAM, with models now starting at 16GB. This change supports Apple’s focus on future AI capabilities.

The MacBook Air and iMac models will also have 16GB of RAM as standard. They will maintain a starting price of US$999.

The devices will be available in stores starting November 8.
