Apple plans foldable iPhone production in India by 2026

Apple is in talks with suppliers in Taiwan about test-producing foldable iPhones, with plans to begin mass production in India and launch the device in 2026, according to Nikkei.

The company reportedly aims to produce around 95 million iPhones in its 2026 lineup, up over 10% from this year.

Sources told Nikkei that Apple sees the introduction of a foldable model as important for meeting these production targets.

Suppliers are considering a site in northern Taiwan for a pilot production line to test equipment and manufacturing processes.

If successful, the manufacturing process would be replicated in India for larger-scale output.

Apple did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment on the report.
