Apple makes executive change to boost AI, Siri

Apple is making an executive change to improve its AI efforts and Siri. Kim Vorrath has been brought over to Apple’s AI and machine learning division, will serve as a “top deputy” to AI boss John Giannandrea.

Vorrath, who has worked at Apple for 36 years, is known for her contributions to the Vision Pro software and early iPhone developments.

Apple plans to revamp Siri’s infrastructure and enhancing its internal AI models.

A major upgrade is expected in iOS 18.4, allowing Siri to interpret on-screen context.

This leadership change signals Apple’s intent to intensify its AI initiatives, potentially shifting focus away from products like the Vision Pro headset.

The move comes amid a competitive landscape where companies like OpenAI and Google have gained prominence with their AI offerings.
