Apple faces slow growth amid AI delays, China competition

Apple is set to report modest revenue growth for late 2024, as slow AI adoption and strong Chinese competition impact iPhone demand.

Unlike rivals Google and Samsung, Apple has been slow to integrate AI features, with key updates like an improved Siri expected later in 2025.

Apple’s global smartphone market share fell to 23% in late 2024, down from 25% a year earlier, with a sharper decline in China, where its share dropped by 10 percentage points.

Concerns over iPhone demand have weighed on Apple’s stock, which has fallen 5% in January, while analysts predict 3.8% revenue growth, down from 6.1% in the previous quarter.

Mac and iPad sales are expected to rise slightly, while Apple’s services business remains strong with projected 12.9% growth.

A strong US dollar could further pressure Apple’s international sales, as over half of its revenue comes from outside the Americas.
