Apple is planning to move product development resources for the iPad to Vietnam for the first time, sources told Nikkei Asia. It is doing so in collaboration with Chinese manufacturing firm BYD.

This includes engineering verification for the test production of a new entry-level iPad model, which is expected to begin in February.
