Apple chip chief Johny Srouji denies exit rumor

Apple’s senior chip executive Johny Srouji told staff he has no plans to leave the company, countering recent rumors about his potential departure.

Srouji has led Apple’s hardware technologies team since 2008, overseeing development of the M-series and A-series chips used in Macs and iPhones.

His memo to employees comes after Bloomberg reported he was considering leaving, citing unnamed sources.

Srouji’s statement follows a string of recent executive exits at Apple, including the head of AI, John Giannandrea, user interface design head Alan Dye, general counsel Kate Adams, and vice president for environment Lisa Jackson.

Srouji’s teams have also developed a cellular modem set to replace Qualcomm’s modems in most iPhones.
