Tim Cook visits China amid Apple’s AI launch speculation

Apple CEO Tim Cook visited Beijing on Monday, marking his second trip to China this year.

He visited a farm in the Shunyi district and met with local university students.

Cook also toured an Apple Store in downtown Beijing and interacted with customers and employees, according to his Weibo post.

Apple has not commented on the visit’s purpose or outcomes. No meetings with Chinese officials have been reported.

This visit coincides with discussions about Apple’s potential launch of an on-device AI system in China.

As Chinese Android manufacturers roll out new AI features, Apple’s approach to AI in the local market is awaited.
