APAC leads AI adoption, faces talent gap: study
According to Aon’s 2026 Human Capital Trends Study, 74% of organizations in Asia-Pacific had deployed or were piloting AI programs, compared with the global average of 73%, the London-headquartered professional services firm said in Singapore on June 3.
Despite the high adoption rate, only 21% of respondents said they could effectively recruit and retain enough AI talent.
The survey of 2,361 business, human resources, and people leaders globally spanned 62 geographies from November 2025 to January 2026.
Aon said the Asia-Pacific findings covered 504 respondents in Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Singapore.
Aon said 84% of Asia-Pacific respondents expected AI to automate some tasks without fully replacing jobs, 87% expected AI to create new roles requiring different skills, and 25% expected some job displacement.
The study also found that Asia-Pacific lagged the global average in customizable employee benefits, while only 18% of organizations in the region rated their pay transparency practices as mature.
