Antler hires startup co-founder to connect Japan, SEA ecosystems
Antler has appointed Hiro Kiga as partner for Southeast Asia and Japan, where he will lead its early-stage investment strategy in Japan and work closely with the Southeast Asia team.
Antler is a global early-stage venture capital firm with a presence in Singapore.
Kiga will be based in Singapore and focus on driving investments in Japan while collaborating with the Southeast Asia team.
He co-founded fintech firm Wallex, which was acquired by Singapore-based M-DAQ in 2022, and has previous venture capital experience at Strive VC and Yello Mobile.
Antler said Kiga’s cross-border experience will help connect startup ecosystems in Japan and Southeast Asia.
The firm is expanding its presence in Tokyo as Japan’s startup sector sees increased activity.
Antler has backed over 1,500 startups globally and operates in more than 30 cities, including Singapore, New York, and London.
