Anthropic said on June 9 it will release Claude Fable 5, a Mythos-class AI model, to enterprise customers and paid subscribers after previously limiting access to Mythos over misuse risks.

The AI startup said the broader rollout was possible because of new safeguards designed to block responses in high-risk areas such as cybersecurity and biology.

When users ask high-risk questions, Claude Fable 5 can fall back to Claude Opus 4.8 to provide a safer response.

Anthropic also introduced Claude Mythos 5, which uses the same underlying model, with some safeguards lifted in certain areas.

It said Claude Fable 5 costs US$10 per million input tokens and US$50 per million output tokens.

The announcements came days after Anthropic said it had confidentially filed its initial public offering prospectus with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
