Anthropic said to weigh IPO as soon as October
Anthropic, the AI company behind the Claude chatbot, is exploring an IPO as soon as October, according to people familiar with the discussions.
The company has held early talks with Wall Street banks about lead roles, and Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, and Morgan Stanley are among the firms being considered, the people said.
The Information reported the listing could raise more than US$60 billion, while the people cautioned that plans are still being debated and could change.
Anthropic, founded in 2021 by former OpenAI employees, was valued at US$38 billion in a US$30 billion funding round that closed in February, and it recently won a court order blocking a US government ban on using its technology after the Pentagon labeled it a supply chain threat.
