Anthropic targets mid-November IPO after delay
Anthropic, a US AI startup behind the Claude chatbot, is aiming for an initial public offering as soon as mid-November after delaying earlier listing plans, according to people familiar with the matter.
The company could begin marketing the share sale to investors in the week of November 9 and start trading before Thanksgiving.
It is still aiming to list by year-end, though the schedule could change.
Anthropic was valued at US$61.5 billion in a March funding round and is backed by Amazon and Google.
Anthropic posted a 2025 net loss of nearly US$42 billion on about US$4.6 billion in revenue.
Most of that loss came from changes in the fair value of liabilities, rather than its core operations.
Anthropic has published a Responsible Scaling Policy that sets conditions for slowing or pausing more powerful AI development on safety grounds, highlighting scrutiny of companies developing frontier AI models as they approach public markets.
