Anthropic taps Accenture for independent AI model tests

Anthropic said on September 18 that it would partner with Accenture, an Ireland-based consulting and technology services firm, to independently evaluate its frontier AI models, as pressure grows on developers to show advanced systems are safe and reliable.

Accenture’s AI business, Faculty, will lead red teaming and other tests, with each company committing at least US$1 billion over five years.

Faculty is a specialist AI firm that Accenture acquired in 2026.

Anthropic said the arrangement would let independent evaluators work inside the company, with access comparable to employees.

The announcement follows a recent essay by chief executive Dario Amodei calling for independent AI audits.

The partnership also comes after OpenAI said this week it would begin publishing regular reports on unexpected or concerning model behavior.
