Anthropic, a company specializing in large language models, has secured US$3.5 billion in a series E funding round.

This funding has raised its valuation to US$61.5 billion.

The round was led by Lightspeed Venture Partners, which contributed US$1 billion.

Other participants included General Catalyst, Jane Street, and Fidelity Management & Research Company.

Existing investors Menlo Ventures and Bessemer Venture Partners also participated.

The funds will support Anthropic’s development of AI systems, increased computing capacity, and safety research.
