Anthropic picks Nasdaq for possible October IPO
Anthropic, a San Francisco-based AI startup behind the Claude chatbot, has chosen Nasdaq for a possible initial public offering that could come as soon as October, according to a person familiar with the matter.
Earlier this month, Anthropic was set to finalize a US$15 billion revolving credit facility. People familiar with the preparations also said the company could seek to raise at least as much as SpaceX did in its US$86.3 billion June IPO.
The company last raised a series F round at a US$183 billion post-money valuation, giving investors a recent private-market benchmark ahead of any listing.
Anthropic also said its annualized revenue climbed to US$65 billion in July.
AI companies have helped drive the US IPO market, which has raised US$160.6 billion this year, excluding blank-check firms and other financial vehicles, according to Bloomberg data. That is the most since 2021.
Anthropic also created a Long-Term Benefit Trust as part of its governance structure, and Ben Bernanke joined the trust on July 9, 2026.
