Anthropic will open a Singapore office in October, its fifth in Asia-Pacific, as the AI company expands in the region and hires locally.

The company has hired Dale Finlay as general manager for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), based in Singapore, to work with customers and partners across Southeast Asia.

Anthropic said it already has offices in Tokyo, Bengaluru, Seoul, and Sydney.

It added that demand in Singapore has been especially strong in regulated sectors such as financial services and government.

Anthropic also said Singapore ranks second among 121 countries for Claude.ai usage relative to population, citing its most recent Economic Index.

It said usage in Singapore is 5.81x higher than expected based on population size.
