Anthropic eyes mid-October IPO launch: sources
Anthropic is expected to start marketing its initial public offering in mid-October at the earliest and list days before the US midterm elections in November.
Its prospectus, previously expected as early as next week, is now likely to be made public in late September, although the timing could still change.
Anthropic is also working to finalise a US$15 billion revolving credit facility, after which analysts, including those at banks involved in the financing, are expected to meet with the AI company before the offering. Such facilities let companies access funds and repay them as needed to manage liquidity.
The planned listing follows a February funding round that valued Anthropic at US$380 billion. In August, the company’s revenue run rate topped US$65 billion.
Some investors have said Anthropic could seek a US$2 trillion valuation. Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, and Citi are among the banks working with the company on the IPO.
