Anthropic CEO warns of Chinese espionage in US AI firms
Dario Amodei, CEO of Anthropic, has raised alarms about potential industrial espionage aimed at United States AI companies.
At a Council on Foreign Relations event on Mar.10, Amodei suggested that Chinese operatives might be trying to steal sensitive algorithmic information from prominent American AI firms.
Amodei characterized these “algorithmic secrets” as extremely valuable.
He said that certain lines of code could be worth over US$100 million.
He expressed concern that attempts to access this information may already be in progress and could be successful.
He urged the US government to enhance protections for AI companies against these threats.
