Anthropic CEO says some tech firms taking big risks in AI spending

Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei suggested that some AI companies are taking on significant risks by making large financial commitments to develop new AI systems.

Speaking at the New York Times DealBook Summit, Amodei said the industry faces a challenge in balancing large investments in data centers with uncertainty over when these investments will pay off.

He added that some firms are “pulling the risk dial too far,” without naming specific companies.

Major AI firms such as Meta, OpenAI, and Google have recently increased spending on infrastructure to advance their AI technologies.
